Oregon-Washington Offshore Neotectonic Map
Hard copies of the Oregon part of this map are available from the
Oregon Department of Geology
and Mineral Industries at 1:500,000 scale in color. The cost is $30.
Accompanying text is also supplied along with a trackline map
showing the geophysical tracklines used in this study. Call (503)
731-4100
or fax (503) 731-4066 for a copy, or order online at http://www.oregongeology.com/pub%26data/pub%26data.htm
The digital version of the map, covering offshore Oregon and
Washington is now available by anonymous ftp from
pitts.coas.oregonstate.edu
in the "pub/active_tectonics/structure/"
directory. These files are also accessible with any web browser.
These files and this page are linked though the Oregon State
University Active Tectonics Group at:
http://activetectonics.coas.oregonstate.edu
The digital version of the Offshore Neotectonic Map is continuously
updated as we assimilate new geophysical and submersible observations
collected in ongoing studies.
File Formats
This directory "/pub/structure/" contains a ZIP file called
"neotec.zip". Within this ZIP file are three Arc Interchange
format (.e00) files; active.e00, pleistocen.e00, and
pre_pleist.e00. Most GIS software packages (including ArcGIS and
Erdas Imagine) have tools or wizards to convert the .e00 format files
to Arc coverages or shapefiles. For more information see your specific software
doccumentation. For ArcGIS users use the Coverage Tools within
the ArcToolbox application to convert the files.
