GPS Geodesy

The College of Oceanic and Atmospheric Sciences at Oregon State University presently operate three permanent GPS sites at Newport, OR (NEWP), Corvallis, OR (CORV), and McMinnville, OR (MCMV). The sites are operated and maintained jointly by Marine Geology and Geophysics within COAS. The Principal Investigators are Chris Goldfinger (OSU) and John Nabelek (OSU). NEWP and CORV have been in operation since 1996. The MCMV site was added in 2003. We have also conducted campaigns across central Oregon in1996 -2001.

The OSU permanent sites are part of the Pacific Northwest Geodeti Array (PANGA). Further information about the scientific goals of PANGA and participating and collaborating PANGA members can be found through the links below.
